AfterSails is back, now with free shipping!
AfterSails is once again accepting new orders with a limited
selection of our most popular items. Lead time from order to shipping
is still six weeks, so order early for gift items or special
occasions. Unfortunately, as with everything else, our prices have
increased. However, we now offer FREE shipping via Canada Post
Expedited Parcel™ service anywhere within Canada.
AfterSails products are no longer available at the From Here to
Infinity Gallery in Brockville. We thank them for their support over
many years and wish them continued success. Similarly, we will no
longer be accepting orders through the Canadian Yachting website.
AfterSails is also now accepting used sail donations with pickup
available within the Ottawa area only.
AfterSails would love your feedback. Post a review to our profile.
While we don't recommend using your AfterSails bag as checked luggage (making a bag that can withstand the abuses of the airlines is tough), here's the story of one such duffel bag's travels.
Dec 2 - Silva Bay (Gabriola Island) to Richmond (Vancouver airport); Richmond to Edmonton
R is off to the western Arctic regions of Kitikmeot and Kivalliq in Nunavut, the first of many flights out of Silva Bay, Gabriola Island. Her charter out of Rankin Inlet said no hard luggage, 30 lbs only... so what better than an official AfterSails bag. Long may your big jib draw.
M.W.: Sssssssswwwwwwweeeeet bag smart.
Dec 3 - Edmonton to Yellowknife, Yellowknife to Rankin Inlet
The Canadian Arctic trek of AfterSails luggage continues today with a flight from Yellowknife, NWT to Rankin Inlet, Nunavut. Can you spot R's bag on the runway cart? I'm thinking AfterSails should be getting a carbon tax rebate for this initiative.
Rankin Inlet NU, AfterSails transiting Kitikmeot.
Dec 5 - Rankin Inlet to Kugluktuk
Goodbye Rankin, off to Baker!
R: Both Kitikmeot and Kivalliq Regions this coming week...so far, so good!
J.E.: Will be fun to watch R's bag Arctic travels through the next week.
Goodbye Baker Lake, off to Kugluktuk!
And on AfterSails goes to Kugluktuk, Nunavut.
R in her trusty red goose parka.
Cambridge Bay tomorrow... then depending on weather approaching ... hopefully out to Yellowknife or maybe trek back to Iqaluit. The Arctic will paint the picture.
Dec 6 - Kugluktuk to Cambridge Bay
Their charter for the 2-hour flight was three after all with 130 km/h head winds. So much for the weather models today.
Welcome to Cambridge Bay!
The infamous AfterSails bag made it too.
Dec 8 - Cambridge Bay to Yellowknife, Yellowknife to Edmonton
Dec 9 - Edmonton to Richmond (Vancouver airport); Richmond to Tsawwassen, ferry from Tsawwassen to Nanaimo, ferry from Nanaimo to Gabriola Island
AfterSails duffel bag is now Arctic Certified in R's opinion. Home after a journey across the western Arctic - it looks like new. Even finished the journey on the foggy BC coast on our ferries as the floatplane was grounded. Highly recommended!
We would like to thank AfterSails' customers Robbin R. R. Sinclaire and Captain Jim Ewart, MM of SILA Management Services Inc. (http://www.silanorth.com/) for their kind permission to use these pictures and story.
